Farmers were always been there. Staying under the sun for hours just to plant different crops that the growing population end up consuming quickly. It takes months for crops to fully grow but then, it easily gets sold and consumed. As the population keeps on growing and farmers grow older, are we gonna be wasting time waiting for a miracle to rain non-stop supply of foods? NO. We must make a move, NOW or NEVER.
People are so fond of fast foods this generation. These types of foods cost relatively little and testes good. But, negative effects on the physical health last much longer than these immediate concerns. With these being said we obviously need to chop off the in take we usually have. On a daily basis, a regular one meal of fast food costs not lower than 50 pesos while vegetables on the market are now sold in an expensive price. This is because of the decreasing supply of farmers harvest due to climate change caused by us, humans. Lands that are used for planting crops are slowly transforming to activities and houses. This is where the 2018 Nutrition Month theme comes in, "Ugaliing magtanim, sapat na nutrisyon aanihin". Let's lay it it here. It's not only the farmers who has the duty to plant crops and such. As humans bestowed with wisdom and love to give, and as God's masterpiece as we are created according to his features its our responsibility to plant vegetables , fruits, and the likes. But then we people are underestimating failures that we tend to rely on farmers alone. These years theme talks about how normal non-agriculture related people can do simple things that can be a big change to the country. As students who are fully aware of the theme, since we gain information from school, we can persuade our parents in our homes to start a vegetable garden in your backyards. Planting doesn't require much work though you need to take care of it, its benefits are priceless. Y'all can cook fresh vegetables from your garden whenever emergencies occur. Not only that it's delicious since its freshly picked but its also nutritious. People can also make a living out of these. Selling it won't do harm as long as you didn't use any harmful chemicals in growing them. You see, planting isn't that bad after all. You may tan your skin for a while but the nutrient you'll gain will be more than worth it.
Plant veggies and fruits at your best, good nutrition, you will harvest!
